TUESDAY - BASED ON OBSERVATION Please phone to discuss booking for September 9th start.

INTRODUCTORY COURSE - 9.30 to 12.30: This is all about colour and will take you through an introduction to the main elements of using colour and, as well as fundamental drawing skills development. We will also go through the main components of drawing including composition, fundamental form, light and dark.

BASED ON OBSERVATION - 1.15 till 4.15 pm: will be for artists who have completed the introductory year and who wish to continue working in an observaional way, from a set up in the studio, as opposed to working from a project brief in a more experimental or abstract way. We will however work with and develop a theme for each half term. A good course to support your general art work if you are also doing Project work on Wed or Thur am.

These courses are ideal for beginners or those with some experience.

PAINTING -project development. Wednesday and Thursday mornings, and Wednesday afternoon. (Spaces left on Wed afternoon) Course Calendar

Next courses start Wed 10, Thur 11 September. Please phone to discuss September start.

For artists who have completed the introductory courses and want to work more independently or from project briefs rather than visual set ups in the studio. Ideal if you want to come every week in order to really develop your painting skills. Tuition is individual to suit your own individual needs and interests. Some experience and an ability to research and work fairly independently is necessary.

You are encouraged to develop your own personal projects and direction, with help and support along the way. However you may also chose to work from projects that I provide each term. Some people work on a large scale, others much smaller, you can work either in acrylics or oils, materials are not included, but can be obtained from the studio at a good price.

Please note that on Wednesday and Thursday there is not a specific set up provided. If you want to paint from Observation the Tuesday Observational Drawing and Painting courses will suit you better as there will always be set ups to work from.

PRINT OPEN WORKSHOP (drop in) Course Calendar

TUESDAY mornings and WEDNESDAY afternoons - depending on spaces available. £14.50 Please phone to check there are spaces on 01273 483311 You need to have some experience in printing and be able to work fairly self sufficiently.

Using plastic plates, the surface can easily be etched into using a variety of tools and techniques, including sanding, dry point. The plates are then inked up and printed on the larger press, which can take up to A1 size. The process is great for painters wanting to churn out ideas and possibilities with speed. Collagraph printing can also be done on the press.
